A Review: Urban Heat Island and its Impact on Building Energy Consumption

چکیده
Civilization and urbanization are the two key demands of humans in 20th century. Over last few decades, a considerable number human population have moved to urban areas. This phenomenon has led an explosion some major cities around globe, including Saudi Arabia. Urban Heat Island (UHI) is climatic condition which settlements experience increased air temperature than their neighboring rural counterparts. The UHI attributed anthropogenic modification land surfaces, growth, development, its consequential production waste heat, endangering health environment as well quality living. Series factors been responsible for UHI, building orientation, material albedo, use, high-rise constructions, activities. present study investigates significance features relation energy consumption. A list contributing was identified analyzed. suggests that there positive relationship between greening concerning Thus, this potential gap needs be addressed analyze impact particularly context

The Impact of Energy Consumption on the Surface Urban Heat Island in China's 32 Major Cities
Supported by the rapid economic development in the last few decades, China has become the largest energy consumer in the world. Alongside this, the effect of the anthropogenic heat released from energy consumption is increasingly apparent. We quantified the daytime and nighttime surface urban heat island intensity (SUHII) for the 32 major cities in mainland China, using MODIS land surface tempe...
متن کاملThe urban heat island and its impact on heat waves and human health in Shanghai.
With global warming forecast to continue into the foreseeable future, heat waves are very likely to increase in both frequency and intensity. In urban regions, these future heat waves will be exacerbated by the urban heat island effect, and will have the potential to negatively influence the health and welfare of urban residents. In order to investigate the health effects of the urban heat isla...
متن کاملThe Study of Thermostat Impact on Energy Consumption in a Residential Building by Using TRNSYS
The present study investigates the effectiveness of thermostat control strategy in cooling energy consumption in residential buildings. To evaluate the energy consumption, two scenarios including a residential zone with and without the thermostat control system are assumed. The TRNSYS software provides an efficient numerical tool to model and evaluate a cooling system. Furthermore, since solar-...
متن کاملClimate and Energy in Urban Areas to Reduce Energy Consumption, Case Study of Saadat Abad Building
Before the modern era, cities were built on a scale that did not change the environmental balance significantly. With the expansion of population and the expansion of cities and the conversion of settlements into big cities and metropolises, new conditions have emerged which show that cities today make their own climates. The new climates created in these areas are completely different from the...
متن کاملUrban Heat Island: Causes, Effects and Mitigation Measures - A Review
High temperature in the city centers than its’ surroundings known as the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, which is causing discomfort to the urban dwellers in the summer time is gaining much attention around the world because the world is getting urbanized as it advances in technology. Alterations of surface area, improper urban planning, air pollution, etc. are causing this increasingly growing...
